Following victories in six other categories including Ultimate Game of the Year at the UK's Golden Joystick Awards, Baldur's Gate 3 was named the winner of The Game Awards. Larian tied for the top position in terms of nominations with Alan Wake 2, with nominations in eight categories, thus it was obvious even heading into The Game Awards that it would be a big night.
Baldur’s Game Won in 6 total Catagories
The Game Awards 2023 saw Baldur's Gate 3 take home the Game of the Year trophy. This completes an incredibly successful evening for the role-playing game and its creator, Larian Studios, as they also took home awards for Best RPG, Best Multiplayer, Best Community Support, and Players' Voice. Neil Newbon, who played Astarion in Baldur's Gate 3, also took home the Best Performance award.
Many have been taken aback by Baldur's Gate 3's unexpected success, not because of concerns about the game's quality, but rather because it is part of a genre that many believe is too difficult to enjoy for a large audience. Rather, maybe more so than anything else, the characters in Baldur's Gate 3 have drawn in both casual and devoted fans of the genre.
It has now won what is frequently regarded as the Game of the Year title. Not bad for a series that hadn't seen a new installment since 2000's Baldur's Gate 2. You don't need to play the first two games to understand what's going on, but you should still check them out since they're fantastic, in case you haven't already.
Given how popular Baldur's Gate 3 is, it's not surprising that the recently added epilogue was so sequel-baa-tic. Several individuals in this scene allude to future adventures, and Withers explicitly says that we should take it easy now while we still have time to go on adventures. It hasn't been verified yet, but this could be a reference to a DLC of some sort.
To be honest, with all the improvements that Baldur's Gate 3 has received, Larian really ought to take a moment to unwind. After all, it would allow the team time to determine which player gets to keep which trophy. But there's enough for everyone now.
Baldur’s Way of Thanking Audience: Baldur's Gate 3 Xbox
There is more news to come. Baldur's Gate 3 Xbox is now made available out of nowhere as soon as the show ended. According to Larian, the game has officially launched digitally on Xbox; in the upcoming year, it will be physically released on all platforms.
