Have You Completed Baldur’s Gate 3 Honour Mode? If Yes, You Are That 0.1%

Three weeks have passed since the introduction of Honour Mode, a new difficulty in Baldur's Gate 3 that is more brutal than Tactician. More smart AI, stronger bosses, and—above all—a single save file. Make a mistake with a roll? Accept the consequences. Die? Restart now. It's hard work, but if you persevere, you'll get an achievement and some fancy golden dice.

Baldur's Gate 3 honour Mode

It's the rarest achievement in the game, as you would imagine. Merely 0.1% of players have succeeded in defeating Honour Mode and obtaining the Foehammer trophy. On PlayStation, it's the same, although fortunately there's a distinct DLC page for it. You must beat the hardest difficulty level in the game on Steam to complete Baldur's Gate 3 in its entirety.

In contrast, 0.8 percent of players on PlayStation and 2.5 percent of Steam users have completed the game in Tactician mode. Although it has only been available for three weeks, the achievement is expected to stay extremely unusual because of the substantially more difficult requirements, even if speedrunners have found ways to make it less significant.

Speedrunner Chronos finished Honour Mode in under an hour when the new difficulty option was patched in. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that most people will probably take it painfully slow to build up their character, ensuring that they are strong enough to weather whatever challenges they run into. With a sliver of burn damage, they sealed the victory by blowing up the Absolute with a metric ton of explosives after jumping through the world. For now, I'm good with Tactician; thanks.

Those who attempted to complete Honour Mode without using speedrun strategies had some surprisingly harsh endings. After choosing to forego the custom character rigmarole and begin the Wyll challenge immediately, one player made the mistake of forgetting to aid Mizora and was consequently damned to Avernus. In Honor Mode, death is final, therefore purchasing an express ticket to hell has no return policy.

Naturally, some attempted to obtain the early resolution in which Act 2's explosion of the Absolute with Gale occurs. Larian felt this was a copout—sure, you got the resolution, but not the achievement or the golden dice. Instead, you end your run and get sent straight back to the start.
